The Financial Services Regulatory Initiatives Forum published its third edition of the “Regulatory Initiatives Grid” (the Grid) on 7 May 2021, setting out planned regulatory initiatives for the next 24 months. The Grid was originally launched as a one-year pilot project and the FCA has now confirmed that, following its success, they plan to publish the Grid on a twice-yearly basis going forward.

Highlights in the latest version include the following:

  • New environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives
  • Work to transform data collection by the Prudential Regulation Authority and Bank of England
  • HM Treasury’s Future Regulatory Framework Review
  • Pensions Regulator’s initiative on the introduction of a single code of practice

The Financial Services Regulatory Initiatives Forum brings together the Bank of England, the Prudential Regulation Authority, the Financial Conduct Authority, Payments Systems Regulator, Competition and Markets Authority, the Pensions Regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office and, going forward, the Financial Reporting Council. The Grid can be found here.
