Diego Perul is a managing director in the Madrid office and country head of the Expert Services practice. He has more than 20 years of professional experience providing financial and accounting advice to companies, financial institutions and private equity firms in pre-litigation and litigation environments, working closely with leading national and international law firms.

Diego acts as an expert witness in cases related to economic, financial, accounting and quantum of economic damages, specifically those related to quantum of economic damages, loss of profits, loss of business value, price adjustment mechanisms and warranty claims on transactions.

Prior to joining Kroll, Diego was one of the founding partners at Forest Partners, a position he held from September 2007 to February 2019, when Forest Partners was acquired by Kroll.

During his career, he has acquired wide experience in forensic accounting, quantum of economic damages and economic disputes, working with national and international clients, specializing in issuing expert reports as an independent expert.

Diego has issued numerous expert reports, defending and ratifying evidence before different courts (including the National High Court in Spain) in civil, commercial, social, contentious-administrative, criminal and other types of matters. He’s also appeared before arbitration courts in Spain and before international arbitration tribunals, including in Latin America. He has acted as an expert witness in cases related to economic issues, financial accounting and quantum of economic damages.

Diego has spoken at seminars and conferences both nationally and internationally regarding the role of the economic expert in arbitration, including at conferences organized by the ICC-CIAMEN, CEA  , the European Arbitration Association and the Center for Conflict Analysis and Resolution of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.

Diego was recognized by Who’s Who Legal as an expert in Forensic and Litigation Consulting (Quantum of Damages) since 2019.

Diego holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration  and an MBA from IE Business School. He completed a Corporate Finance course at IESE Business School.   He is a member of the Spanish Arbitration Club   and the ICC Spain Arbitration and ADR  Commission.
